I need to complete 3 credits in British Lit. I would like to take it via a distance learning program that operates at the student’s pace, preferably by mail. Sadly, at this time I am more interested in earning the 3 credits than receiving a great education. I live in Eastern NC and would like to work toward getting a degree in graphic design. I already have a bachelor’s in marketing, which hasn’t done much for me, and have a passion for the art of design.

Are there any schools in the area that offer programs in design that would allow me to take either distance learning courses or mainly night and weekend courses (because I work a M-F, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. job). The more affordable, the better. Thanks!

I’m interested in doing an undergraduate degree in Physics, but I would like to do it self-study, as I have work commitments full time study isn’t an option. How long is it likely to take distance learning? How often would I have to travel to the accrediting university to take exams? How much would it cost.

If you are a distance educator, how did you prepare for your job?

I am interested in working in the future as a distance learning educator. I currently have a master’s degree in educational media, and I have been teaching school for 25 years (elementary, middle and high school.) I consider myself a K-12 “generalist.” I am interested in working, teaching online courses to elementary, middle and high school students in remote locations. Is there a degree program or certification that will prepare me for this job? I really don’t need another college degree.

I want to study for a Masters degree in IT/computer science ideally by distance learning. Currently I hold a B.Sc in IT from the University of Malta. I would like to know if there are any good (accredited) universities that allow me to further my studies in IT. There is Sheffield Hallam University and Liverpool but apparently some threads criticize these universities as they are not ranked well, they are relatively new, etc. I want to find a reputable and flexible university. I am also really messed up whether I should quit my current job and go for full time in a university abroad. Can anyone help me please as I am really confused? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I would like to work while I get my MBA. I still want to get my MBA from a good school. However, I work and live in an area where there are not any good schools. Finding a list of good MBA programs is easy. Finding a list of good MBA programs with distance learning is hard.

I work full time and want to go back to school. I am looking for a really good engineering university that offers distance learning for under grads. I don’t mean schools like kaplan university or any of the known online schools but I am interested in schools like U Texas-Austin, VA tech etc..I have been searching and I’m looking for opinions.

I know now that I want a degree in business but there are so many… Which one should I pick? I work in the cellular industry and am in retail managment currently but I am interested in moving up into a different position. I would like to be involved with operations and planning in the business- more like an Area manager or something along those lines.

I am also wanting to complete my degree using distance learning and need advice on which to choose for that.

It’s getting rather tiring seeing all these messages in the homeschooling section related to distance learning. They are not the same! I can understand school-aged distance learning questions as that is a form of homeschooling, but once you’re past high school age, it’s not homeschooling anymore.

I have a two year experience and I want to go for a MS in Computer Science in Spring 2009. By that time I will have about 3 years of experience. What is scope of an MS degree via distance learning from some US university? Will I be eligible for campus placements? Is it treated on par with regular course?
